Gilbert Makhulo - Technical Director, Mechanical and Electrical Building Services Service Line
Gilbert has over 20 years working experience in infrastructure and building engineering services as a mechanical engineer in design, tender documentation, supervision and contract management of major projects in several countries in Africa including Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Djibout and Somalia. He has also been involved in various design reviews and project management on several projects with diverse aspects of engineering. He is a registered professional engineer with Engineers Board of Kenya and a Corporate Member of the Institution of Engineers of Kenya. His responsibilities include: management and coordination of design of mechanical engineering services for new installations and maintenance works in residential and commercial buildings, industrial, educational, and health institutions, etc, preparation of design concepts, designs and drawings, specifications, bills of quantities and tender documents, Supervision of installation works, management of contracts, cost evaluation and preparation of financial appraisals among others. Gilbert is currently manager of mechanical and electrical service line in the company, overseeing all mechanical and electrical building services engineering activities including project management and coordination.
Edward Machocho - Technical Director, Building and Structures Service Line
Edward Machocho has 18 years’ experience in Structural/Civil engineering services and project management of building projects during which his main responsibilities have included design of structures, assessment of structural integrity of buildings and water retaining structures, preparation of drawings and tender documents, supervision of construction works and management of contracts. The Major projects that Edward was involved include Kisumu Airport Terminal Building, JKIA Parking Garage and Terminal 4 building, 30-storey BRITAM tower at Upperhill, East African Portland Cement grinding mill, Kisumu Pentecostal Church (CITAM), among many others. Edward is overseeing all structural engineering activities, including project management and coordination, of Building and Structures service line in the company.
Bernard Ochieng is a Registered Consulting Engineer and a Member of the Institution of Engineers of Kenya. He holds a Masters Degree in Civil Engineering (Public Health Engineering). His field of expertise is water and sanitation engineering. He has been involved in several urban and rural water supply and sanitation projects in Eastern, Central and Southern Africa countries, including Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Somalia and South Africa. He has worked as a Water and Sanitation Engineer for the last 19 years. He is conversant with water and sewerage network modelling software.
Wenslaus holds a Master of Science degree in Occupational Hygiene from University of London. He is a registered Safety and Health Adviser, Fire Safety Auditor and Environmental Management Lead Expert. He has over 27 years of experience in Occupational Safety and Health Management; Safety and Health Auditing; Fire Safety Auditing; Environmental Management; Environmental Impact Assessment/Audits; and Disaster Management in Kenya. He is currently the Service Line Manager in-charge of Safety, Health and Environment within Howard Humphreys (East Africa) Limited. Wenslaus is proficient in Workplace and Environmental Risk Assessment and Occupational Safety and Health Management Systems. He has been engaged in various capacities in Kenya in Safety, Health and Environment Management and Training.
Malecela Makuya – Operations Director Howard Humphreys (Tanzania) Limited
Malecela Makuya is the Operations Director of Howard Humphreys Tanzania Limited. He is responsible for the Technical performance of the Company in Tanzania. Eng Makuya holds Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from university of Dar es Salaam and a Master’s of Science Degree in Water Resources Engineering from University of Zimbabwe. He is registered Consulting Engineer with Engineers Registration Board of Tanzania (ERB) as Consulting Engineer. His experience developed in Tanzania and Norway. He has experience in project planning; studies preliminary and detailed design, tender documentation and contract supervision, administration, and project management. He has been working in a number of projects of different sizes including Development of Strategic Water Supply and Sanitation plan for DAWASA, Bariadi town water supply project and several projects in Norway. He has 11 years experience in the design and supervision of water and other infrastructure projects.
Zenna Shaban Kiwanga – Water Service Line Manager
Zenna Shaban Kiwanga – holds a Masters Degree in Hydraulics Engineering from UNESCO-IHE Delft, the Netherlands and a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering from University of Dar es Salaam. She has over 10 years of local and international experience in the Design and Construction Supervision of Water Supply Projects and Hydrological and Hydraulic analysis of drainage structures. Engineer Zenna is involved in all phases of project cycle from the planning and feasibility studies through to the detailed design, preparation of tender documents, documentation, and procurement and construction supervision. Eng Zenna has worked in both Tanzania and United States, where she was involved in the design of several projects including the Rehabilitation and Extension of Secondary and Tertiary Water Distribution Network in Dar es Salaam, IWRM for Ruvuma Basin and Davis-Woodland Water Supply Project in California. She is well conversant in computerized hydrological and Hydraulic modeling using a wide range of modeling software such WATERCAD, Water NET, EPANET and Microsoft Office packages.
Issack W. Shayo – Service Line Manager Roads, Transportation and Bridges Service Line
Issack is a registered Professional Engineer with over 11 years’ working experience in civil engineering infrastructure projects. He has carried out copious projects covering feasibility studies, design & Design reviews of Road and Airport projects, technical auditing, road inventory/condition surveys, supervision of construction works carried by Contractors (Building & Civil Works) furthermore he has also been involved in Drawings, specifications & tender documentation on several projects. He was the Resident Engineer during the construction supervision of Tabora Airport project in Tabora and Hombolo Institute project in Dodoma, Tanzania.
Lwitiko Humphrey Kalenga – Structures Service Line Manager
Eng. Lwitiko Humphrey Kalenga is a Registered Consulting Civil Engineer with more than 10 years experience in the field of Civil Engineering. His experience involves working in various small, medium and large-scale Structural Engineering Projects ranging from Proposal stage, Feasibility Study, Detailed design to Supervision and Certification level. He is also experienced in Geotechnical Engineering majoring in Rock Mechanics and Ground control on slope stability and underground structures He has involved in various Materials Engineering tasks in the number of projects including highways, hydropower projects, building sites, roads and bridges. He is licensee civil explosive blaster with experience in various construction quarries and Underground Excavations.
Claude Benjamini - Mechanical Service Line
Mr. Benjamini holds Bsc. Electromechanical Engineering degree certificates. In addition to those academic qualifications he has undergone some professional courses in Project Management. He has also attended several seminars and workshops that have added to his ability in addressing wide range of issues related to design of air conditioning, mechanical ventilation, fire fighting system and plumbing installation. Along with those qualifications, Mr.Benjamini has an experience of more than 7 in the field of electromechanical engineering.
